Alec Pappas Architects receives 2004 Premiers Award from The Royal Australian Institute of Architects
The annual Premier’s Award was presented to an originally uninspiring 1970s block of flats in beachside Maroubra, with NSW Premier Bob Carr describing the block as one he had always previously disliked but that architect Alec Pappas’ alterations had wrought a “minor miracle”.

Hereward Street Maroubra, wins Randwick City Council 2004 Urban Design Awards Competition
To set a high standard and set benchmarks for future awards, award winners were selected for clearly outstanding entries only. Seven award winners were chosen for the 2004 Urban Design Awards Competition.

New landmark building located in the heart of Randwick recieves Commendation' in Randwick City Council's Urban Design Awards 2004
A new landmark building located in the heart of Randwick shopping centre (at 25-31 Perouse Road Randwick), designed by Alec Pappas Architects Pty Ltd, received a 'Commendation' in Randwick City Council's Urban Design Awards 2004 Competition and was included in the NSW Government Department of Planning publication 'Improving Flat Design - a progress report' where 20 built projects were selected that demonstrate a real improvement in design quality of residential developments in NSW.
